This is very true, thoroughly thought out and the last paragraph hit me like a wrecking ball (or, how I imagine one would). Otrazhenie shared an amazing train of thought, so I thought I’d share it with you! It’s..great is not the right word, because that would imply it’s a good thing. It’s neither, I think. A warning, perhaps..Advice. Forewarning. Information. 🙂
Today we were given a randomly selected prompt each- which seven of us had written previously (I was away when the others wrote them, and Mo was away today, so that was sorted).
We then wrote a piece on said prompt(s). These will be uploaded shortly!
Anyway, these prompts may be helpful to your own writing! Some are odd, some are slightly morbid and I think someone had too much fun writing another.
I like the quote and My Everyday Power Blog has Got A Point.
So, thought I’d share!
Start before you are ready. Most people spend their entire lives waiting. Most people are convinced that after they get, do and have just this ‘one last thing’ that they will be ready to undertake a new venture or a new opportunity. For the overwhelming majority, that day never comes.
Opportunity comes to those who create their own luck by taking action. Yes patience is important and you can’t just jump on every initial opportunity that presents itself. However, always remember that you will never have, do or become what you want unless you start. Life and time do not wait for anyone. The best time to start IS ALWAYS NOW!
More Creative Writing; this story is by ‘MichGev’. This is an example of flash-fiction!
Ridiculous the laughs! I presented them with a sure fire way to save the world and they mocked me with a prehistoric bodily interaction with no intention behind it all. These preconceived notions of impossibility have been handed down by generations of disappointment. My theories are sure fire, and based on factual numerical and empirical decisive remarks backed up by tangible instances deduced by my experiments. I have proof. I have numbers.
It’s never enough until they see it for themselves. But little do they know the deception that occurs by their own intelligent-mind. So I wait; I see what is acceptable and present the “truth” accordingly. But the truth, I make up, with notes and numbers that are digestible. I’ll ride the ride until they catch me from the bullshit I’ve spewed. By the way, I’m a physicist, and I don’t…

A poem..by the Merchant of Rhetoric. It’s wonderful, and an example of how inspiration can take hold of you at any moment. -Dara
The result of an early morning walk and a recent desire
to play with form and style…
Is earth’s collective ignition:
The kingcups are drinking their dew,
The grass breathes curls of mist—
And I am halted by the sounds of the birds…
When Darwin stood with his foot
At the top of the world
In every little finch,
His mutative division,
His brow was in the steam of noon.
But for me,
Me, who lives in daybreak
The lifespan of a god—
When the hawk’s claw
I see the sportsmen same time nod,
I see all as a chorus:
The trees stretching their roots,
The colonies reaching their hum,
Cool brooked in banks across the world—
And I am thrilled to be one and the same…
